DE_SSPARTAN This map is a multiplayer space ship level for Counter-Strike: Source. I used the Hammer world editor that Valve provides in their Software Development Kit (SDK). I designed the map, but others are responsible for creating textures and props (i.e. "models") used in the rooms. Still, I had to place these objects where they would work properly and look right, so it did take work to use these objects as well. Since mose of the actual design work was mapping the rooms, walls, floors, ceilings, skybox areas, creating some objects (like the escape pods), assigning textures, creating the stairway, creating a fairly large crawlable ventilation system, making it all a working map (from what I could tell so far), and placing objects - I didn't really do any modelling/animation with tools like Maya or 3DStudioMax. Not like I have training with either program yet anyway... though I have now got a number of hours in using the OpenSource 3d tool called Blender. This map may not display some textures properly if you don't also have Half-Life 2 installed, as it uses materials from that game directory. You can download this map from the downloads page on my main Lightfire website. Then just follow the included instructions to install it, and run it from CS:S by making a server with de_sspartan selected.
